The mosdos you give to, kept as your own list — and the ordinary chances to do something that are near you and that you would otherwise never hear about.
Most people give to the same handful of places and could not name all of them under pressure. Lechem keeps that list for you: the mosdos you give to, what you have taken on, and when.
It is your own record. Lechem does not fundraise, does not rank institutions, does not sell placement on your list, and does not pass your list to anybody.
🩸 And it never takes custody of your money. Lechem does not collect tzedaka, does not hold funds and does not process a donation. Where a mosad has its own way of being given to, that is between you and them, and Lechem stays out of the middle. This is a red line in the product, and it exists because the moment an app holds other people's tzedaka it has become something else entirely.
Alongside it is a quieter thing: the ordinary opportunities near you. A minyan short of a man, something that needs carrying, an hour somebody needs. Small, local, real — the kind of thing that used to travel by word of mouth in a place where everybody knew everybody, and that now nobody hears about at all.
