The machzor, and selichos
The tefillos of the Yomim Noraim, and the selichos of the weeks that lead into them — present when their season comes, and out of the way the rest of the year.
Lechem is a helper and a reminder. It is never a ruling. For anything halachic, ask your Rav.
These are the days a person most wants to be carried and most often is not. The machzor is thick, the order is unfamiliar because you only meet it once a year, and half the difficulty is simply knowing where everybody else is up to.
Lechem brings the machzor and the selichos to the front when their season arrives, and takes them off the front when it passes. This is a small thing that matters a great deal: an app cluttered with Rosh Hashanah in Adar is an app you stop trusting to know what day it is.
Because the year has a shape, so does the app. Elul is not Tishrei. The selichos of the first night are not the selichos of Erev Rosh Hashanah, and the pattern of which are said when is exactly what a person cannot hold in their head — so Lechem holds it, and opens where the night actually is.
Nothing is ever removed when its season ends. Everything stays in the app, and search finds any of it at any time of the year. Out of season it is simply not in your way.
